The music world is currently flooded with amps ranging from huge well-known companies selling mass produced “boutique” amps or modern versions of their vintage amps to brands that offer what is no more than kit amps copying cosmetically and electronically tried and tested circuits. We hope we can survive alongside these manufacturers and offer an alternative that some players will love. There really has been nothing substantially new in the design of preamp and power circuits for half a century, however the way an amp is designed and built can make a huge difference sonically.
Thankfully we don't have the pressure of making and selling amps in volume to market trends to meet budgets or survive as a business. This is one part of Tym guitars we do because we love amps and want our customers to have access to great quality, locally handmade valve amps at reasonable prices. |

FAMP 50
The FAMP is a 50W guitar combo, with 60W 12" speaker IN A HIGH DENSITY FOAM CABINET and it weighs under 9 KG.
The new Tym FAMP is made for practice and/or touring. Completely self contained once locked up with nothing to catch or break off

Tym guitars has used vintage circuits as a starting point in both lay out and tone but we have not copied any single amp but instead used several well known and much loved circuits in an amalgamation to deliver a 40 watt valve amp giving maximum clean headroom and frequency response. |

Tym guitars is now making an amp heavily based on this original British amp from the 60's and early 70's. It's no secret I'm a HUGE fan of these amps and we have spent some time "improving" the original design while keeping the look, feel and tone intact. |
