Tym guitars makes guitars the only way I know how, completely by
hand. Less than 20 guitars are crafted per year in this very time
intensive manor and are made for very reasonable prices compared
to other completely handmade guitars.
I go out and hand pick the timber that will eventually be shaped
into the guitar that will be your pride and joy. All work is done
on site here in my fully equipped workshop, by me. All necks are
hand shaped by file and finish sanded by me. All body carves are
done by file and sandpaper, just like the early original Mosrites.
The finishes are done here and wet sanded between each 12-15 coats
of lacquer.
In most cases the Mosrite replicas have handmade Tym pick ups that
are hand wound replicas of the original Mosrite single coil and
humbucker pick ups. Hardware on the Versatone series is Tym Mosrite
replica hardware or Japanese Mosrite hardware at an extra cost.
Gotoh or Grover tuners are used throughout.
All hand made right here in Brisbane, Australia. Click on the guitars

The Mosrong series is only offered when I have time (which is
rarely) as my “public service” guitar for those who
want Mosrite cool, without the price. I use cheaper timber and hardware
, but they are still completely handmade by me.
