WOSRITE 63

Built in the tradition of the original Joe Maphis/Ventures model by Mosrite in the late ‘50’s and early '60's, Tym guitars brings you this completely handmade replica.

It is lovingly handcrafted from the original design that later became the now famous Ventures model.

This one pictured is a replica of the first 20 or so Ventures models made in late ’63/early ’64. It has the asymmetrical headstock and “production style” pick ups that became recognizable as the Ventures model. It also features the Guild knobs originally used on these guitars.

This bound basswood body and maple set neck guitar replicates the feel and sound of the original to a “T”.

The ultra thin neck with large radius fretboard, zero fret and wooden string guide is set into the solid basswood body with classic Mosrite 3 tone sunburst.

The handmade, hand wound pick ups sound every bit like the original. The handmade 6 screw aluminium Vibrato and bridge with mute mechanism add to the sound.

The guitar also has the side jack and three screw aged white scratchplate.

Only approx 25 original Joe Maphis single necks were made between 1960 and late '63.

The Tym guitars Maphis replica available soon is essentially the same body and neck with “pre production” pick ups and “mistake plate” around the handmade vibrato and bridge with mute mechanism.

It will also have the earlier symmetrical headstock and flat neck end with angled pick up. A picture of this guitar will be available soon.

Mosrite originals of both these guitars are now all but impossible to get and when they become available, they are prohibitively expensive.
