These Joe Maphis double necks were offered from very late 1965/ early '66. Before this model there were the slightly more pleasing double necks like the Brian Lonbeck model which were mainly offered in octave/6 configuration like the ealry Joe Maphis "gingerbread" style double necks from the 50's.
These later Maphis models have turned up with custom order octave/6 necks and even a bass/6 version has been found.
These were made a the height of the Bakersfeild factory production and use all standard Ventures model hardware which is probably why they are sometimes (wrongly) referred to as the Ventures double neck.
This example here (serial number 2J150) is in great condition and is all original including hardcase.
