This Machine kills fascists : These new distortion and fuzz pedals being handmade by Tym guitars and being sold to raise money for charities. One is based on the classic MXR Distortion + but has been modified to let more bass frequencies through. The other is a classic 60's two knob fuzz.
* These pedals are $100 Aus with any donation of the equivalent amount or more made to any of the charities listed on my links page or other agreeable charities. Check here for charity details.

The Human Fly : When I heard
Lux Interior of the Cramps had died I took it upon myself
to make a pedal in homage to him. This is a NASTY 60's fuzz that I call the
"sausage sizzle" type fuzz. Loosely based on a Mosrite
Fuzzrite with more gain and "sizzle" this is that
classic early Cramps type fuzz. With controls for Volume and
Goo Goo Muck, this pedal is a garage rock players dream come
true. The Goo Goo Muck knob works in both directions for more,
and more gain. "Boss" compatible 9V adaptor and
switchcraft jacks top it off. Limited numbers available. SOLD

The Return of the Human Fly : Due to popular demand, IT'S BAAACK.

The Howling Woolf : This fuzz was designed for Melbourne Fuzz/surf/psychobilly/blues band Midnight Woolf. This is a 60's FUZZ suited to all the styles above above and more. Heaps of gain in this little box. Spluttery, crackly FUZZ. The tone switch takes the top end out in case you're using a Strat or Tele so it doesn't just take you're head off. SOLD OUT

 |
The SM Fuzz : These are electronically
exact copies of an old school sustain/fuzz with a toggle switch
for mid cut or boost and with an old school treble boost built
in. The boost is in series before the fuzz to "crisp up"
the fuzz and give a boost. These are all hand built in Tym stainless
steel enclosures with stomp switches for the boost AND the fuzz
so either can be used independently or together. With Boss compatible
9V adaptor. Limited numbers available. SOLD

 |
The BigMudd Ramhead series : These are handmade, hand wired clones of an old school sustain/fuzz made around '75/'76 that has been nicknamed the "Ramhead" by many.
These older fuzz pedals had slightly less gain but way more "harmonics"
than later models and re-issues. These are considered by most to be the highest point of this company's fuzz design. These use the original 2N2222 transistors with the classic "mid scoop" of the originals. |
| |
|
 |
The BigMudd Fuzz : These, like the one above are handmade, hand wired clones of an old school sustain/fuzz from around '77 that is now known as the version 3 by it's many fans.
This was the last of the transistor models just before the op amp version came in and had the same 3003 board as the "Ramhead" but with slightly different components giving it more bass and mids. SOLD

The Tymbender : This is the classic British 2 transistor fuzz. Very similar to the Fuzzface it uses 2 silicon transistors to give a raspy 60's fuzz.
Available in original configuration or with added Big Muff style tone control to open up the sonic capabilities of this simple yet great little circuit.
|
| |
|
| COMING SOON. |
The Supa Tymbender : This is the big brother of the classic British 4 transistor fuzz. This is a close relation of the old school sustain/fuzz 4 transistor circuit. Not quite as thick and "creamy" as the US version, it has a nasty rasp to the edges from the silicon diodes I use that makes it a very similar to the later Colorsound version. |
| |
|
 |
The BigBottom V02 : The idea behind this great pedal is to split the signal coming from your bass guitar and send the mid to high frequencies through an effects loop to any guitar effects pedals, while keeping your bass frequencies clean. This eliminates the loss of bottom end that bass players would normally experience when using guitar effects pedals. You get a clean BIG BOTTOM and an effected main signal.
Designed in conjunction with Australian band Magic Dirt and handmade on site at Tym guitars, this pedal is unique and a must have for bass players who use effects of any kind.
Version 2 has a volume for each loop and a true bypass footswitch. |

|
 |
The Toecutter : The Toecutter is the new Tym pedal based on the original "Bud Box" and THE RAT.
It is built on custom designed Tym PCB and hand wired using original type caps, resistors, 2N5458 FET and LM308 IC to give the original tone as used by The Melvins, Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Radiohead and many many more. This has been fitted to my new enclosure design. It's the same size box handmade out of stainless steel, just sideways. |
| |
|
 |
The BUZZrite : This is another
"ode to Mosrite" of mine. It is a copy of the second series FUZZrite
pedal made by them in the late 60's. I tried to model it as
closely to the original as possible, with an adjustment for
volume and depth. This can be optioned with a tone switch like the Human Fly. It is powered by a 9 volt battery or "Boss"
compatible adaptor.

|
 |
The Boost : The Boost is
a point to point transistor type boost pedal based on those
early treble boost circuits made on both sides of the Atlantic
back in the 60's. This pedal has a toggle switch for treble
boost or linear boost and will drive any nice valve amp into
creamy (or trebly) overdrive. Simple yet highly effective
and used by most of the 60's British and US bands to liven
up their amps before fuzz came along. Still very usable today. |
| |
|
 |
The Double Boost : What happens
when you run 2 boost pedals together ? You get expediential
gain. This is 2 linear boosts running into each other and will
certainly push your valve amp into masses of overdrive. This
is "old school" transistor technology so it's much
more touch and guitar volume sensitive than modern op amp boosts.
This can be used on guitar or bass with equally impressive results.

|
 |
The Tremor : This is the classic EA trem circuit again, but why not. It's a GREAT trem. With an improved design and added internal volume so you can run a gain pedal before or after and adjust the amount of clipping in the trem.
This trem will be available with other circuits so you can tailor your fuzz/trem needs in one pedal. You can also add the Muff tone control for even more scope. |

|
The Overdrive : The overdrive
is a medium to high gain overdrive pedal based on several old
classic overdrive circuits but NOT the overrated TS overdrive.
Development has been slow on this one as I'm never happy with overdrives. There are some great ones out there, but I need to get mine right before releasing it.
STAY
TUNED. |
| |
|
 |
The Distortion : This is a old
school 741 op amp driven distortion based on the classic MXR D+ unit
with a tone control added for more versatility. This is one of the most used or referenced overdrive/distortion circuits out there. The same basic design was also used for the DOD OD250 and many other. It has sweet harmonics and plenty of gain. These are all
handmade and wired on Tym custom designed and built PCBs. |
| |
|
 |
The Distort and Boost : Is based
on the pedal above with a linear or treble boost added for more gain
that can be switched in front or after the distortion circuit.
This also has the "thick/thin" switch like the Fuzz
for filling out your sound.
These are all hand made here and we can offer many options. Just ask.

 |
The Fuzzilla : This is my homage to the GREAT Companion/Shen-ei FY2 using 2 old stock C945 transistors. This pedal was THE original Japanese fuzz pedal also sold as the original Univox Superfuzz in the US. We have added a toggle switch
for "Mothra" or "Gamera" which goes from std FY2 with a slight boost to bring it up to bypass volume (the original dropped in volume like most early fuzzes) to an FY2 with tone control and more boost. Volume and gain are the
only other things you'll need. |
| |
|
 |
The Fuzzilla 666 : This is my copy of the GREAT Univox Superfuzz using 6, count 'em 6 C945 or 828 transistors. This pedal was the Japanese designed fuzz pedal that was sold as the now famous second series Univox Superfuzz in the US. I have added a footswitch
for octave. The "tone" control is for the octave to find the "sweet spot"
The Fuzzilla 666 Deluxe will be this pedal WITH a Big Muff tone stack added for more variety.
|
| |
|
 |
The Bass Face : This is another old school fuzz designed especially for you bass players. This is a "messy" bass fuzz for fat stoner rock and psychedelic. The circuit is based on the classic 2 transistor Shen-ei fuzz above using old stock C945 transistors. I've added more output gain to cut the bass through. This design has been used by bass players in JAMC and Cosmic Psychos, among others.

 |
The SuperFuzz BigMudd : What would happen if you put a Superfuzz and an old school sustain/fuzz pedal together in one box and named it in homage to the Mudhoney EP that made those pedals famous in the early 90's ? This, that's what.
This is a "triangle" version fuzz together with a Superfuzz in one box. They can be run with either fuzz first or even another pedal between them. SOLD OUT |
