Tym guitars has used vintage circuits as a starting point in both lay out and tone but we have not copied any single amp but instead used several well known and much loved circuits in an amalgamation to deliver a 40 watt valve amp giving maximum clean headroom and frequency response which makes it ideal for pedal users as well as players who just want responsiveness.
Our amps use only the best quality components we can buy from all over the world and we assemble them here in Brisbane by hand. Our chassis are hand made and welded aluminium and our cabinets are hand made ply, covered in tolex to match our quality speaker cabs.

The front panel has power and stand-by switches and lamps to the far left. Controls are presence, bass, treble and volume with a high and low input.
We have also added a foot switch-able “tone stack” bypass to give more gain. The tone stack in any amp "saps" power and tone from the circuit so we have made it possible to switch this out and get a more direct path from your guitar to the speakers. There’s no effects loops, master volumes or multiple channels here. Just pure, valve tone heaven……………………..

The Tym Super Tone 40 is available with JJ 6L6 or KT66 power valves and JJ 12AX7 preamp and phase inverter valves. We are now getting our transformers handmade here in Australia and source many of the components from all over the world to ensure this the best quality parts we can buy to build this amazing amp.
The amp is built on G10 turret board and laid out and assembled here in Brisbane by hand to give every one maximum performance and tone.
The amp is shown here on one of our custom made 4 X 10 cabs but matches up beautifully with our 2 X 12 or 1 X 12 cabs as well. Check here for details on the speaker cabs. |

The back panel has speaker outputs for 4, 8 and 16 ohm and HT and 240V fuses. Power is through the standard IEC (jug plug) input.
Available on special order as a head unit with matching Tym speaker cabs or combos in any tolex and grill cloth combination that you like. Try one out at the retail shop now. |
