Please read the following information carefully
This page shows the options of my guitars and any
other costs involved inc. shipping and helps answer some frequently
asked questions.
Materials...
All my guitar and bass bodies are made from common guitar building
timbers like mahogany/ash/basswood/pine/rosewood/maple etc, although
if you have a request for something different, ask me. My necks
are generally maple/mahogany or ash with West Australian rosewood
or Indian rosewood fingerboards with flat channel trussrods that
are mechanically the same as real Mosrites. I am also now offering
north American rock maple and aluminium as alternatives but this
will effect the final price (see options at bottom of pricelist).
These options are available on most Tym guitars.
If you are after an exact Mosrite copy my necks can differ from
the real thing in a couple of ways. My necks can be "slightly"
thicker than Mosrites and a zero fret is optional. You can order
a neck in 24.75" or 25.5" scale lengths for guitars or
30" for basses but again check the options page for different
scale lengths. My necks do have the slightly angled headstock and
small dot markers like a real Mosrite. The fret wire I use is filled
down small Fender wire because this is the closest I can get to
the real Mosrite wire. It can be left slightly higher than the real
thing but is still small enough to look good. You can have your
guitar fretted in "normal" fret wire if desired.
For everybody...
I make all my guitars and basses in both right and left handed.
Prices are the same for both but a left handed Mosrite style vibrato
does add a slight cost.
Hardware...
Most of the hardware fitted to Tym guitars is made in house. The
rest is mainly Gotoh from Japan. If you want other hardware or pick
ups fitted that is fine but it will effect final cost. You can have
Tym pick ups, Seymour Duncan, Di Marzio, Kent Armstrong, WSC, Gotoh
and many more brands of pick ups. All deluxe models come with Tym
pick ups as standard. Jazzmaster, Strat or Bigsby vibratos are optional
and available in left and right handed.
I have a full range of hardware for sale as well. Strings, bridges,
vibratos, scratch plate material, machine heads, pick ups, truss
rods etc. Also available are Moseley style vibratos, hard tailpieces
and Mosrite style bridges and knobs made by Tym guitars.
Colours...
All colours except for pearls and sunburst cost the same. Any colour
is available (as long as I can get a sample, I can get it made).
All guitars have at least 6 coats of top colour and 6 coats of clear.
All paint is handrubbed acrylic lacquer and metallics cost the same
as solid colours. Add approximately $100.00 for three colour sunburst
or pearls. My finishes are not 10/10 perfect. They are good quality
finishes that I would rate as a strong 8.5-9/10. I make these guitars
to be played, and played hard.
Set up...
The guitar will be set up with your choice of string gauge but may
need final adjustment to suit your playing style. Guitars may also
need setups after being sent around the world due to temperature
and humidity changes.
Price includes...
All prices are in Australian dollars + GST where applicable. If
you need help with exchange rates try this site.
These prices do not include a hard case or shipping. Hardcases are
available through Tym guitars. Also available are aluminium flightcases
custom made specially for your guitar. Otherwise the guitars can
be shipped in hard cardboard boxes like most guitar manufacturers
use. An exact quote will be finalized before the guitar is started
and a 30% deposit is given. After receiving the deposit an approx.
time frame is estimated. Exact shipping or receiving dates can not
be given. Because of demand there is currently a considerable waiting
list.
Payment...
Tym guitars accepts PayPal. Pay by credit card from anywhere
in the world using this service. To find out more, go here.
The other payment method is direct deposit from bank to bank.
Shipping...
I ship to anywhere in the world. This includes insurance. There
may be taxes/duties applicable in your country. (Please check with
your customs before ordering) Prices will depend on type of guitar,
box or case it is shipped in and type of service. A final quote
will be sorted out before final payment. Here's
a basic outline of shipping costs.
Warranties...
All Tym products are covered by full warranties worldwide. For warranty
details click here.
Disclaimer...
I do not build any guitars with the name "Mosrite" on
them.
I do not use Moseley, Vibramute, Mosrite, Mosrite of California,
Mosrite USA, FUZZrite or Semie Moseleys name on anything I build.
Please do not ask me to. I don't want these guitars or pedals to
be resold to unsuspecting people in the future as the real thing.
I would be heartbroken if I thought I was buying something and it
turned out to be fake.
