Tym Muddy Cat
Out of Stock
These are a circuit I've had in my head for some time. While being based on a Big Mud circuit it has had a lot of the circuit values changed to make it more of an overdrive/fuzz using carefully selected tone stack options and low gain NOS "tin can" transistors with two stages of unequal germanium clipping diodes. This has sections and ideas from some of my favourite Big Muds including the Rams Head, the ELK Sustainar, the Foxey Lady and black Bubble Font and has more flat mids than a usual BM circuit. This cleans up nicely with the guitar volume and still has lots of output and gain but nothing like some of the bigger Big Muds.
These are full sounding overdive/fuzz with very little mid sccop with nice harmonics and lower output than some others in the series. Check my blog for more details.
My designs are inspired by the classic old units but with modern components and appointments and many options like true bypass or non true bypass switching, LED's, added "active" tone controls, boosts and "Boss" compatible 9 volt adapters. NONE of my pedals use batteries.
